Connect VS Code
VS Code uses MCP servers in GitHub Copilot Chat. You need Copilot set up in VS Code.
Add the server
Section titled “Add the server”Open this link on a computer with VS Code installed (the AI assistants page in the Edgible console has the same link as a button):
Or add it from a terminal:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"edgible","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.edgible.com/mcp"}'Both add Edgible to your user profile, so it is there in every workspace.
Section titled “Sign in”The first time VS Code connects to the server, it opens your browser. Sign in to Edgible, pick the organization and choose Allow. The page shows Verified domain vscode.dev under VS Code’s name; if it says Edgible can’t verify this app, update VS Code and connect again.
Use it
Section titled “Use it”In Copilot Chat, use an agent that can call tools, and check that Edgible’s tools are turned on in the tools picker (Configure Tools). Then ask about your applications. Every hosted tool only reads.
Manage or remove it
Section titled “Manage or remove it”Run MCP: List Servers from the Command Palette and pick edgible to start, stop or restart it, see its output, or uninstall it. Then revoke VS Code in Edgible’s Account → Connected apps. See See and revoke connected apps.
To let Copilot change or redeploy applications, use the local server with --allow-write
instead; see Local server and CLI.
